Every socialist and labour activist should read this book。

Short primer on Capitalism and its deep roots into the state apparatus。 Chibber distills some complex theory into a very readable and understandable text， and makes for timely reading with the current strikes and energy/water crises in the UK。 The final chapter was a little weak on potential next steps， and got a little bogged down in the USSR， but a good book in all - the kind of thing I wished I had available to me 20 years ago。

A good basic explanation， aimed at younger folk than me I think。 Almost Capitalism 101。 Would recommend it to new trade union members， and as a good gift to teenagers with no real background in class politics or political activity。 Certainly covers all the main points， plus detailed exploration of the options for opposing exploitation of workers and the drawbacks of individual based struggle， or over reliance on academic/professional trxts and theories。
